Dominic Carola is an accomplished entrepreneur and artist with over 30 years in film and animation. An award-winning director and producer, Dominic's career began at DC Comics in New York, followed by studies at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where his student film won the inaugural Walter Lantz Animation Award.
Recruited by Walt Disney Feature Animation (WDFA), Dominic spent over a decade at WDFA in Orlando, Florida. He served as Lead Animator on “Lilo & Stitch,” “Mulan,” and “Brother Bear,” and contributed to “John Henry,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Pocahontas,” and “The Lion King.” He has also received two THEA Awards: one for his direction of Walt Disney's California Adventure Animation Pavilion and another for the media content of "The Simpsons Ride."
Dominic founded Premise Entertainment in 2001, transitioning from a weekend animation house to an independent artist-driven studio. He co-founded Project Firefly in 2004 and has since overseen various productions, including Universal Pictures' "Curious George" and Disney's "Princess & the Frog," "Winnie the Pooh: Springtime for Roo," and "Goofy’s How to Hook up Your Home Theater.” He also partnered with Aaron Blaise on the award-winning John Lewis campaign “The Bear and the Hare” and with the Jesus Film Project as director for “Chosen Witness,” “Legion,” and the animated feature "Jesus."
Dominic continues to oversee diverse productions and consult on visual storytelling and themed attractions while maintaining a focus on family-friendly content with a positive message.
